This console was designed in the tradition of the iconic French directoire style which has been a mainstay in European traditional design since the 18th century. The console table is a product of the well respected Baker Furniture company towards the end of the 20th century. Baker Furniture has few true competitors in regards to fine furniture production in the modern era and their furniture continues to command a premium in a market full of lesser quality reproductions. We primarily handle antique furniture however will always defer to a product made by Baker Furniture if we are looking for a furniture form not commonly found as an antique. We only offer the finest and highest quality furniture and we count Baker Furniture among the finest producers of 20th century furniture along with Henkel Harris and Councill Craftsman. Our particular favorite production line from Baker is the Historic Charleston Collection which we have sold to many of our clients. This console is designed with a beautiful grade of exotic rosewood and is accented with a brass gallery, directoire style brass handles, and gilded accents around the drawer faces and legs. The table has fluted supports which span the upper and lower tiers. Each leg is finely turned in the trumpet pattern which is another feature of the French directoire style. The table is in exceptional condition with a fully finished back and is a wonderful design solution where only a long narrow table will work. The table measures 45 1/2" wide x 14 1/2" deep x 31" tall.
