Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this wonderful mid 20th century Mahogany footstool / vanity bench. We originally thought this was Tiger Maple when we saw the pictures from the estate, but once we got our hands on it realized it wasn’t Maple at all and was actually Fiddleback Mahogany. The bench was probably made in or around High Point, North Carolina based on the design & the fact that North Carolina was producing over half of the country’s furniture by about 1950. The top of the stool has two reticulated borders with floral relief carvings between them, and 4 cute as a button 10 petal flower carvings at the peripheral corners. The footstool measures 13 1/4” wide x 10 1/4” deep x 13 1/2” tall.
