We are pleased to offer you this very rare 18th century pine Long Island, NY Queen Anne period Blanket Chest. This one comes to us from the noted collection in the Hudson Valley. It has the uniquely identifiable twin molded panels in the front of its case. The chest's top has very nicely molded profiles along with its lower drawer faces, the original strap hinges, intermediary moldings, bracket feet and nicely done cut out sides. The box was obviously refinished earlier in the 20th Century and is in very good condition. We note it had an interior till at some point in its life which is no longer present. Long Island, NY 18th century furniture is a highly specialized area of collecting of which very few actual pieces remain. Having all its original structural integrity with nicely chamfered old growth pine secondary panels & all original base and back panels. It is 42 1/2" long, 19 1/2" wide and 38" tall.
