EXCEPTIONALLY RARE CIRCA 1810 VERMONT CHERRY INLAID HEPPLEWHITE WEDDING CHEST WITH INITIALS "R + C"

Bay Colony Antiques takes the utmost pleasure in offering you this rare Vermont Circa 1810's cherry & holly inlaid Wedding Chest of Drawers. This period Hepplewhite formed chest bares the initials of its original owners"R + C". Simply wonderful in all respects it is in its first finish, surface and notable condition. Additionally it possesses its original Grape & Leaf embossed Brasses. True New England (in particularly Vermont) Wedding Chests are scarcely found & hotly contested pieces. These are off the truck photos taken during inclement weather. It needs actual sun lighted photos and we will get to that asap. The chest has a large four drawer format and exaggerated scrolled apron with double crescent cut out sides. Each drawer employ very highly crafted hand chamfered old growth pine secondary panels. The entire chest is correct down to the glue blocks. This chest marks an important epoch where Vermont furniture moved from a primitive paint & construction form to a more sophisticated presence. It measures 46 1/2" long, 17 1/2" wide and 45 1/2" tall.
