IMPORTANT EARLY 19TH CENTURY YELLOW PINE GRAIN PAINTED SETTLE BENCH
With our very highest compliments we are delighted to offer you this very important and rare formed early 19th century yellow hard pine Grain Painted Settle Bench. We have seen some wonderful Settle Benches over the last year, purchased each one we could & each represented the very best of its respective category as is clearly the case here. This is a very large specimen with a spindle turned back, nicely scrolled back rail crest with center pediment and fully formed arms with a lift top seat revealing a large generous storage compartment complete with candle till. It is structurally pure with very strong remaining grain painted decorations with no damages. It has its original very unusual strap hinges with its lock and catch. Sorry we did not receive an key for the lock. This bench is embellished with four painted panels on its front and seats top with panels painted on each right and left end sides. It is 77" long, 21 1/2" wide and 44 1/2" at its back rails center pediment.
