With our highest compliments and utmost honors, Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic set of 6 Mahogany Bank of England chairs with purple leather seats by the BL Marble Chair Company of Bedford Ohio. Formerly the Marble and Shattuck Chair Company, BL Marble Chair Company was founded towards the end of the 19th century. The company crafted a wide array of library furniture & office furniture. We mainly encounter their chairs in Oak, but these chairs are Mahogany which were made in much fewer numbers because Mahogany was a premium material and would have been a more expensive option at the time. Most BL Marble chairs have standard wood seats and backs, with leather being another premium option that would have also incurred a greater cost. The purple leather looks great & is in fantastic condition free of any rips or tears. The entire set is in very good condition with our only notes being minimal surface wear & one chair is missing the brass caps on the front legs. These would make a great set of seating in a lawyers office or other business setting or even interspersed throughout the home to add some cohesion across different rooms. It’s very rare to find a matched set of 6 BL Marble chairs in Mahogany finished with leather and we’d urge any interested parties to reach out to us before they’re snapped up. Each chair has the word “Mahogany” punched under each arm and each chair retains their original BL Marble tag on the back of the seats. The chairs measure 22 1/2" wide x 23 1/4" deep x 44" tall. The seats measure 18 1/2" between the arm (20 1/4" at the front) x 18" deep with an 18 1/2" seat height.
