We are honored to offer you this wonderfully crafted set of six antique Chippendale styled mahogany ball & claw dining room chairs. Influenced by the Pennsylvanian to Virginian interpretation of Gothic Chippendale form. Each chair possesses rolled top rail ears with carved center shells over large heart shaped back splats again embellished with additional carvings. These completely unique set of chairs have excellent scale with rake and splayed back hexagonal carved rear legs and front flaring carved knee cabriolet legs over ball & claw feet. The chairs have large robust seat boxes that hold their drop in slip cover seats. The moment you lift these chairs their weight alone tell you that these are very high quality solid mahogany antique Chippendale dining room chairs. These are not Beech or white wood chairs so often passed off as mahogany. The set consists of 2 arm chair and 4 side chairs. The arm chairs have huge rolling carved arms that are 27" long from arm to arm, 19" wide, 40" tall with 19" high seats. They have a very nice original finish is original with some desirable wear in the stain that give them a rich patina.
