Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this wonderful pair of antique Arts & Crafts Tiger Oak rocking chairs. We've had a good number of single Arts & Crafts chairs come in lately, but it has been a while since we last had a true pair. The chairs have large paddle arms and seven slat backs. The upper and lower crest rails are curved which results in a comfortable chair and the slats are also set into the crest & rail following the same curve. From a woodworking perspective this is much harder to accomplish than using a straight back. It really makes a big difference in terms of comfort and was a common technique employed by advanced Arts & Crafts furniture makers. The chairs have super comfortable orange leather seats and are in very good condition with our only notes being minor surface wear. The chairs measure 27” wide x 29 1/2” deep x 33 1/2” tall. The seats measure 19 1/2” wide between the arms x 17 1/2” deep with a 17” seat height.
