With our absolute highest compliments Bay Colony Antique takes the utmost pleasure in offering this exceptional tiger maple chest of drawers. This dresser was produced by the Danersk Furniture company which specialized in traditional English & American interior furniture made to the same exacting standards as their antique counterparts. Danersk was part of the Erskine-Danforth Corporation which began advertising to the public in the earliest part of the 20th century with full catalogues available as far back as 1917. Original they had locations in New York City at West 47th St adjacent to 5th Avenue and then on Madison Avenue at 46th Street. Access to the Madison Avenue advertising firms helped the firm evolve into a powerhouse with their Stanford, CT location ultimately employing a small army of hundreds of European Craftsmen. Along with firms such as Flint-Horner and Schmieg & Kotzian they remained the premier source for fine traditional furniture in the greater New York and Western New England region for decades.

The dresser is comprised of both brilliant tiger maple and boldly figured mahogany designed to contrast each other beautifully. The top of the chest features four turret or cookie cornered ends above continuous ringlet turned posts that also serve as the dresser legs ending on baluster turned feet. At the top of each turned post are fabulous acanthus leaf carvings executed with intricately styled and precise decorative accents. Each drawer features a cockbead molded accent along with federal style brass pulls which depict traditional American eagles surrounded by thirteen stars. The stars represent each of the original thirteen colonies in the tradition of the revolutionary era craftsmen who often invoked this motif. This antique chest measures 45 1/2" wide x 22 1/2" deep x 40" tall.
