We are delighted to offer you this very well done oil on canvas painting depicting a Maine shoreline seascape with a beached Peapod Dory, surrounding landscape and well done play on a skyline with clouds. This is an extremely well executed piece that we happen to have enjoyed a while ourselves and now it's time to find it a new home. We obtained this painting from a Southern Maine Estate which along with the Peapod Dory was a fairly conclusive indication of its origins. In our best opinion, employing the oxidation and type of canvas used, combined with a signed Frost & Adams Frame (the famed Boston frame maker located in the late 19th Century at 33-35 Cornhill Street Boston, Massachusetts) this is a late 19th Century to the very early 20th Century Impressionist work by a very well trained artist. There are some pencil notations under the torn away back liner paper. We have opted to leave it alone as we found it and we are certain the painting is in original frame and free of any damages. It is in a 22" X 19" frame with a sight size of 16 1/2" X 13 3/4".
