With our compliments we are pleased to offer you this delightful large early 19th Century inlaid Sailor's box. It is 14 3/4" long, 11 1/2" wide and stands 8 3/4" tall. We love inlaid boxes and the artistry that went into making one of these pieces of our American folk art, making history. We are extremely competitive buyers of fine antique inlaid boxes and this is one of the best we've seen over the last few months and seeing hundreds of exotic inlaid decorative boxes. There is some slight veneer shrinkage on the lid. Overall, it's exceptional for one of these early 19th century boxes. The lock is all there, but we didn't get a working key with it. It is inlaid with great fruit woods and has a great old original intact paper liner.
