With our highest compliments we're excited to offer for sale this exceptional pair of french marquetry inlaid nightstands with petrified marble tops. We've been handling a larger than usual number of fine French furniture. It's not getting any easier to come by but we cover countless miles and have exclusive access to the finest New England estates. These stands are branded France underneath the apron and again signed under the marble. In the early 20th century the finest stands like these were exported to be sold by our domestic high end retail stores. Most lesser quality stands are fitted with basic white marble. Petrified marble such as this was reserved for the best export products. The stands feature a very attractive book matched walnut grain with a variegated fruit wood inlay around the drawer faces, side panels, and on the finished backs. These tables are decorated with exceptional ormolu mounts on the stiles, center apron, and feet caps. The mounts feature classical floral designs accented with swags of drapery. These are absolutely gorgeous stands that were well cared for and it shows. The stands measure 21 1/2" wide x 13" deep x 30 1/2" tall.
