With our highest compliments Bay Colony Antiques takes the utmost pleasure in offering this wonderful tea table made by The Councill Craftsmen furniture company. Councill Craftsmen is a premier manufacturer of the very finest grades of contemporary furniture in the antique tradition available anywhere throughout the country. In the late 20th century, Councill Craftsmen had distribution centers spread all throughout America and specialized in producing a line of furniture made primarily from the finest Honduran mahogany available. The Councill Craftsmen brand has remained synonymous with the highest standards of furniture manufacturing as they never compromised on quality particularly while the other leading furniture producers began to cut costs and focus on marketing over maintaining a finely made product. The cost of production remained considerably high throughout the past several decades so savvy collectors now look to online resellers for considerable savings over what Councill Craftsmen furniture originally sold for. Anyone looking to add a beautiful antique reproduction to their home can now do so at a fraction of what it cost to do so a generation ago.

This tea table we now presently offer is the absolute finest of its form produced by a leading furniture manufacturer in the 20th century. There were numerous makers who favored this traditional tray top tea table format made popular by the original colonial era designs first made during the 18th century. While it can be difficult to tell from photos alone there is a huge difference between some of the run of the mill tea tables made in this style versus the tables produced by Council Craftsmen. The largest varying factor is the premium grade of Honduran mahogany used to construct the table. Lesser quality copies are generally regarded as "brown furniture" meaning the makers used any sort of wood they could get and stained it to appear to be a finer quality product than it truly is. Expert craftsmen built this entire table to exacting standards with a finely molded tray top and graceful cabriole legs made in stunning detail. Additionally the curved apron, carved accent along the table legs, and padded feet elevate this table to be one of the finest products of its kind produced in the late 20th century. This tea table is in wonderful condition and features pull out slides on either end which are inspired from the antique Queen Anne period tables made centuries before. The table measures 30 1/2" wide x 19 1/2" deep x 26 1/4" tall.
