EARLY 20TH CENTURY CA 1910 STICKLEY BROTHERS TIGER OAK MIRRORED GALLERY SIDEBOARD WITH SOPHISTICATED FORMAT AND LARGE BOTTLE DRAWERS
Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.
With our highest compliments and regards were pleased to offer for sale this wonderful Stickley brothers quartersawn / tiger oak sideboard with mirrored gallery. The Stickley brothers formed their partnership and started the Stickley Brothers Furniture Company in 1891 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They began creating fancy tables & occasional chairs. By the turn of the 20th century their mission designs prevailed and led the market. As they became more successful they employed more notable designers and artists that furthered the legacy of their line.
This sideboard has a 4 over 3 over 1 format with the top center drawer fitted for cutlery with remnants of the original felt liner. The felt liner could easily be well done for modern use however we felt it was best to leave it alone our customers value purity. The gallery retains it's original and impressive large beveled glass. As far as Arts & Crafts sideboards come this has all the bells and whistles. Many made later in the period lack the sophistication and quality of earlier and true Mission Oak sideboards. We've had the pleasure of handling some amazing Arts & Crafts / Mission furniture over the years by masters Gustav Stickley, JM Young, Limbert etc and this sideboard is every bit of the quality and deserved for the highest Arts & Crafts / Mission interiors. We're very selective when handling these and only choose to offer better-best examples for our clients. This sideboard is 52 1/4" wide x 22" deep x 53 1/2" tall. The surface height is 37 3/4".
