Early 19th Century Antique Tiger Maple & Cherry New York One Drawer Work Table
Early 19th Century Antique Tiger Maple & Cherry New York One Drawer Work Table
With our absolute highest compliments Bay Colony Antiques takes the utmost pleasure in offering this exceptional antique work table. We could not be prouder to offer this specimen as it is truly one of the finest untouched original antique examples we have come across recently. The top of the table features an outstanding tiger maple top that has been entirely left alone throughout the past two centuries. Over this time, the top has developed a wonderful depth of character through continual use by generations who have come and gone. This charming and desirable surface is exactly what collectors look for when seeking out a fine antique purchase. So many of these tables have been refinished and thus stripped of all their original character. The bold and vibrant tiger maple top is contrasted by the beautiful cherry wood which comprises the rest of the table. The table features a single drawer fitted with a wooden knob, joined with hand cut dovetails, and complete with a chamfered drawer panel which has wonderful oxidation. The table rests on four finely turned legs in the New York style with compact ball turnings and raised feet. The table measures 20 3/4" wide x 16 1/2" deep x 27 3/4" tall.
