ANTIQUE EARLY 19TH CENTURY PRIMITIVE PINE JELLY CUPBOARD IN ORIGINAL BITTERSWEET YELLOW OVER RED SURFACE
Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We strive to bring you the best, fresh to market antiques offered below market value in the comfort of your own home. We are delighted to offer for sale this antique early 19th century primitive pine jelly cupboard in a desirable bittersweet yellow over red paint. The surface is masterfully done, built up in stages to intertwine the contrasting colors in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The raised escutcheons are carved from the same piece of wood as the doors. This struck us as an unusual embellishment on a primitive country piece such as this but it's a lovely touch. The top has a molded edge and remnants of an old 1920's print affixed to the top it. We think it looks great on there and chose to keep it on. The interior has two continuous shelves providing ample storage. We've been seeing these stripped down and scrubbed and feel altering the original surface is an atrocity in it's own right. This surface is original, correct, and true. When we represent an antique or item of interest we always hold originality and purity in the highest regards. We don't sell anything with major flaws or imperfections simply because we don't have to, and don't want to. Our customers desire the best and we continue to produce and bring special unique items to market. This cabinet is 38 1/2" wide x 14 3/4" deep x 41" tall.
