We are delighted to offer for sale this wonderful early 19th century Federal period blanket box in the Sheraton manner. This pine box features an attractive double paneled front face, paneled sides, a carved and molded top and all pegged construction. This box is a nice pure New England antique with the best construction techniques and old original surface. This is pegged and tenoned construction all through out with a refined country elegance. The lid and base moldings are quite elaborate, the chest terminates in turned ball feet. The interior is fitted with a lift top candle till and a generous storage cavity. We note some exterior molding missing from the front panels. The box is 44 1/4" wide x 19 1/2" deep x 25" tall.
