High-quality stacking file cabinets of this era have become increasingly scarce and remain highly sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts alike. This particular cabinet is composed of six individual components: a shaped base, four file drawer sections, and a molded top. The base features an elegant shaped front profile with incised carvings which are considerably more desirable than the simpler straight-leg variants. The molded top mirrors the profile of the base, adding to the congruity of the design and offering a superior aesthetic to standard flat tops. Each drawer section was constructed with frame and panel sides and feature incised carvings along the front stiles and around the bottom edge. The Quarter Sawn Oak selected for the cabinet is absolutely stunning with vibrant rays and numerous flecks on just about every single surface.
This is without question one of the finest stacking file cabinets we’ve had the pleasure of offering in recent memory & don’t imagine this one will be around for long. The cabinet remains in remarkable condition & was finished in a beautiful golden oak color. Each drawer retains their original pickled brass pulls, internal file rods, and has Yale locks positioned at the upper right corner of each drawer. The drawers also retain their original green metal tension plates, and each contains a pre-installed hanging file frame making the cabinet ready for immediate use.
The interior of each drawer measures 12” wide x 15” deep x 10 1/2” tall. The overall dimensions of the cabinet are 16 1/2” wide x 18” deep x 54 1/2” tall.
