The entire case of the file is constructed from a premium grade of white oak lumber with quartersawn "tiger oak" grain selected to enhance the beauty of the case exterior. Four drawers slide in and out on dependable sliding tracks so that the full interior of each drawer may be utilized. Both sides are the back of the case are built with solid frame and panel construction which allows the file cabinet to adjust gradually to changes in seasonal humidity so that over time the case remains strong and free of expansions or warped elements. The sides are constructed with "Cope and Stick" profiled joinery which locks each wooden element together in the strongest manner possible. The bold oak grain is enhanced through a beautiful and balanced oak finish with wonderful tones which fully illuminates the character of the oak case exterior. The case retains the original brass placard identifying Library Bureau Sole Makers. Each drawer is fitted with antique brass hardware including name placard holders, drawer pulls, and retracting file rods.
