ANTIQUE INDUSTRIAL 6 DRAWER TIGER OAK INDEX CARD CATALOG CABINET / RECIPE CABINET
Bay Colony antiques is delighted to offer for sale this wonderful antique Tiger oak 6 drawer library card catalog cabinet. The previous owner used this as a recipe card cabinet and it’s still chock full of their old recipes. Many are handwritten, and others are printed on old card stock or clipped from old magazines and newspapers. There are also some cool recipe cards from The Shaker Museum Foundation of Old Chatham New York. The recipes range from deserts, dressings, homemade pasta sauces, and even Jello casserole from the 50’s. As much as we want to keep the old recipe cards, it would feel like an injustice to the previous owner to separate them from the cabinet. If you plan to discard them, please let us know and we’ll gladly keep them.
The cabinet has a vibrant grain & is solid Quarter Sawn Oak aside from the backboard which is veneered. The cabinet retains all of its original hardware with the only exception being one decorative knob on the right middle drawer. Each drawer also retains their original tension plates that actuate with ease to keep everything nice and tidy. The sides and the top have a slight separation, and there are a few old black ring marks on the top from hot pans being set down on the cabinet. The cabinet measures 13 1/2” wide x 17 1/2” deep (including the pulls) x 13 1/2” tall. Each drawer measures 5 1/8” wide x 14 1/2” deep x 3 1/2” tall.
