With our highest compliments & utmost honors, Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic late 19th / early 20th century Antique Tiger Oak file cabinet. The drawers retain their original transfer record labels from Rockwell & Rupel of Chicago. Rockwell & Rupel were a lesser known maker that we don’t encounter too often. This is their Wabash Rival Letter File with 12 drawers that retain all of their original tension clips to keep files in place. The drawers measure 12 1/2” wide x 12” deep which can hold standard letter size paper or folders. Each drawer retains its original thumb molded brass index card holders / pulls. These cabinet were generally made for libraries, businesses, and schools, so it’s rare to find them with the additional carving work on them which was obviously a more costly option. This cabinet has a wonderful egg & dart carving along the front of the cornice. The cabinet measures 30 3/4” wide x 18 1/4” deep x 36 5/8 tall.
