This example is a truly special offering with the entire piece being constructed of a premium grade of highly figured tiger maple lumber and old growth secondary woods used for the drawer box interior. The entire table is finished in a wonderful amber color which throughout time has developed a warm and rich patina that perfectly enhances the beauty of the boldly figured tiger maple wood surfaces. When exposed to sunlight the entire table has a stunning presence with the full figuring and depth of character provided be the tiger maple wood grain becoming fully apparent. The table has a finely designed top which overhangs and features corners that have been cut at angles to form an octagonal shaped format. Along the apron of the table are strongly figured tiger maple boards which are finely pegged at the joints ensuring a stable and secure table frame that will require no additional regluing or adjustments for generations to come. This joinery technique is a hallmark of precision craftsmanship and a further indication of the high quality and care that went into constructing this table. The drawer features a single embossed brass and ebonized pull that is of the same age as the table. An incredible amount of detail when into the four finely turned legs which feature robust ring and ball style turnings and end on well formed button feet.
