Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic legal size four drawer Tiger Oak file cabinet. The cabinet was made by Library Bureau Sole Makers who were founded in 1876 and really came into stride supplying equipment, furniture, and other services to the many new Carnegie libraries being built across the country. Library Bureau Sole Makers crafted files of all sizes along with a wide array of other library & office furnishings like desk, desk chairs, display cases, etc.. The file has paneled sides and a paneled back and retains all of its original hardware. The drawers operate with ease and the cabinet is signed by Library Bureau Sole Makers on the brass tag underneath the top drawer. The cabinet is made from high grade tiger oak with vibrant rays & flecks present in the grain. The finish is probably original and is in great condition with our only notes being minor surface wear & some light discoloration to the left side. This is a legal size file cabinet with the interior of the drawers measuring 15 1/4” wide x 24” deep x 10 1/2” tall. The file measures 20 3/4” wide x 27” deep (28” w/ pull) x 51 1/2” tall.
