ANTIQUE ARTS & CRAFTS MISSION OAK DOUBLE DOOR CHINA CABINET WITH LEADED DOORS
With our compliments Bay Colony Antiques proudly offers this wonderful antique china cabinet. This remarkable cabinet was produced for a craftsman style home at the height of the Arts & Crafts movement close to a century ago. The sentiment of this movement placed quality of natural materials and the labors of the craftsmen above all else as to achieve a product for the regular person that would last well into the future. The construction of this cabinet reflects that spirit as the entire piece is crafted from a premium selection of solid white oak and finished in a beautiful mission brown color.
The cabinet has two doors which open to allow access to the interior with a series of adjusting shelves intended to keep a household collection of dishware. The doors both feature leaded upper panes which create a pattern of geometric shapes including opposing trapezoids and triangles. The sides of the cabinet retain the original glass which allows the showcasing of the chinaware or serving pieces displayed inside. We note that the shelves were not photographed with the cabinet due to a momentary oversight where they were temporarily left behind at our restoration shop. The cabinet is in overall excellent condition having been recently attended to by our trusted restorer who strengthened the case by regluing the areas that experience the most stress. This type of maintenance is required typically every few decades. We can state with all confidence that this cabinet will remain perfectly strong and reliable for generations.
The interior of the cabinet allows for 38 3/4" of storage width and 14" of storage depth. Overall the cabinet measures 42 3/4" wide x 16" deep x 57" tall.
