With our highest compliments Bay Colony Antiques takes the utmost pleasure in offering sale a fine and rare antique billiard's pool stick rack by the Brunswick Balke Collender company. This billiard's rack is designed to hold twelve individual pool sticks with a dozen circular recessed pool stick rests hollowed out from the lowest rail and an upper mid level rail fashioned in the same manner as a gunstock rest found in most antique rifle cabinets. The entire frame of this billiard's rack is made from solid mahogany and in several areas there are holly and mother of pearl inlaid into the frame which creates a brilliant contrast in the design. The billiard's rack was made in the Arts & Crafts style and still retains the original decal in the top center denoting "patented Dec 18 1923" right above the original manufactures decal identifying Brunswick Balke Collender Company as the maker. For anyone unfamiliar, Brunswick Balke Collender was a 19th century manufacturer of fine billiard's related products and throughout the 20th century evolved into a prolific American manufacturing powerhouse with products including yachts, boats, weapons, and military related technologies. Despite the expansion into other industries Brunswick has remained among the finest manufacturers of American billiard's products. This billiard's rack is entirely all original including the original finish which has developed a beautiful and rich patina throughout the last century. It is truly a pleasure to have this spectacular antique billiard's rack in our collection and we look forward to providing it with a new home in a collection where it will be cherished for generations to come. The billiard's rack measures 32 1/2" wide across the the top at the widest point and 29" wide across the bottom rail where the base of each pool stick would rest. The overall depth is 3 1/2" both at the top and bottom. Overall the billiard's rack is 56" tall.
