ANTIQUE 1920'S ART DECO CAST IRON AND ALUMINUM THOR DOUBLE BENEFIT HEALTH / SUN LAMP BY HURLEY MACHINE COMPANY
Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.

Were pleased to offer for sale this absolutely wonderful antiques 1920's Art Deco cast iron and aluminum medical lamp. Hurley machine company's products could be found in many early 20th century homes. By 1908 the company boasted the first fully electric washing machine, the Thor. Hurley Machine continued to diversify their product line and here we see an early medical / sun lamp.

The cast iron base retains the original aqua green paint and all height / angle adjustments work with ease. We opted not to polish the aluminum bulb housing or the base, many of our clients desire the untouched wear. We can't say we come across many of these and when we do they've usually been clumsily converted to house a modern bulb. This example retains it's original dual electrode arc lamp socket. As with all electrical antiques of this age we'd strongly urge our end user to have an electrician look this over before attempting to use in a modern home. The base measures 13" x 13". When the height is completely down the piece stands 45" tall. When the height is fully extended the lamp is 66" tall.
