MONUMENTAL 19TH CENTURY IRON GARDEN URN WITH FLORAL ORNAMENTATION ON PEDESTAL
With our most sincere compliments we are pleased to offer you one of the very finest 19th Century monumental iron garden urns on original pedestal base that has come to the New England market place.This comes to us directly from the grounds of a Western Massachusetts mansion that is being tragically razed for its land. We have obtained many other wonderful treasures from this estate. Massive antique iron urns simply get no better.It's lost any decipherable foundry marks after 150 years of oxidation to its base but its attention to detail is fairly identifiable. To make this buying experience as simple & pleasant as possible we have made a substantial investment in having the base and the four panels welded. We replaced the original threaded support metal support rods with new ones. We would suggest filling the base with cement after you install it. The cement that was in the base crumbled when we moved it so we had it all carefully re-assembled by our welder. Evidenced by the black marks on the white original paint you may note on the base pedestal. This urn has spectacular ornamental decorations with a foliate leaf motif edge, huge vine twist handle mounts with its body & base covered in intricate motifs. It stands 52" tall and is 43" wide. It is completely original and in otherwise remarkable condition besides two leaf ends. The bases to these massive urns rarely make it over the years with the original urns. It makes a substantial difference to their values and aesthetics. This is a complete piece with all its original flanges and we couldn't be prouder to be offering it.
