Bay Colony Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this fantastic 20th century Queen Anne antique style Pennsylvania softwood blanket chest. This is a bench made piece crafted in the 18th century manner with a dovetailed case, dovetailed drawers, hand chamfered panels, & breadboard ends on the lid. The brass escutcheon plates & pulls are appropriate for the chest and an old iron hasp was installed with a steel lock. A couple of newer Phillips head screws were added to the hinges but we’ll remove them & replace them with old slotted screws. The interior has ample storage space and measures 46” wide x 20” deep x 16” tall. We’ve always loved the aesthetic of the triple drawers & the feet are well executed and properly proportioned to the chest thanks to their tall stature. The chest is in wonderful condition with our only notes being a slight mellowing to the finish & an old repair to the back left foot. The chest measures 49 1/4” wide x 23” deep x 29 3/4” tall. When the lid is fully open the height is 51” tall.
