We're delighted to offer for sale this fantastic set of 6 English Chippendale antique style ball & claw mahogany dining chairs. This set is heavily carved with beautiful Anglo-Irish elements. This is a lovely early 20th century set with great natural chestnut brown leather seats accented with decorative brass tacks. The splats have an interwoven lace design with an acanthus carved crest and crest rail. The chair stiles are molded continuing to the rear gently splayed legs. This set consists of 4 side chairs and 2 arm chairs with carved and molded arms. The cabriolet knees have a wonderful rams head form decorated with floral carvings , curlicues, and a charming punch carved decoration often associated with traditional 18th century English and Irish furniture. The front legs terminate in powerful finely formed Chippendale ball & claw feet further adding to the allure of this stately set. We noted a small about 1 inch restoration to one leather seat. It was only a small rip the last owner incurred that was addressed and restored correctly by a leather expert. The arm chairs measure 25 1/2" wide x 19" deep x 37" tall with a seat height of 18". The side chairs measure 23 1/2" wide x 19" deep x 37" tall with a seat height of 18".
