Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this wonderful early 20th century antique Walnut Adams style twin size bed. Adam’s style furniture was popular at the end of the 18th century and is most often associated with architect Robert Adam. Robert gets the majority of the credit, but it was a family business consisting of him and his brothers who worked off of their father’s designs. The brothers were educated & well-traveled and drew inspiration from newly discovered sites from antiquity like Herculaneum & Pompeii. The bed has a beautiful paint decoration of an urn shaped vase with flowers surrounded by a vine motif. The headboard has a molded border with Grecian scroll carvings and the footboard has carved finials, fluted columns, & an applied molding with cut out corners. The bed is nice & sturdy and is in wonderful condition with our only notes being minimal surface wear. The bed measures 41 1/2” wide x 80 1/2” deep x 45” tall.
