20th C Antique Tiger Oak Desktop File Cabinet ~ Library Bureau Sole Makers
20th C Antique Tiger Oak Desktop File Cabinet ~ Library Bureau Sole Makers
Bay Colony Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this wonderful early 20th century antique Arts & Crafts tiger oak 3 drawer file cabinet. The cabinet was made by the Library Bureau Sole Makers who were founded in 1876 Library Bureau and really came to stride supplying equipment, furniture, and other services to the many new Carnegie libraries being built across the country. Library Bureau Sole Makers crafted files of all sizes along with a wide array of other library & office furnishing like desk, desk chairs, display cases, etc.. This desktop example has 3 drawers, double paneled sides, & a paneled back. The file is signed "Library Bureau Sole Makers" on a brass tag below the top drawer and the drawers all actuate with ease. The file is in great condition with our only notes being some mellowing to the finish throughout the piece and light wear to the top. The top two drawers have useable dimensions of 10 3/8" wide x 15" deep x 3 1/4" tall. The bottom drawer has a split configuration with each side having useable dimensions of 5" wide x 15" deep x 3 1/4" tall. The file measures 15 1/2" wide x 20" deep x 15" tall overall.
