20TH CENTURY ARTS & CRAFTS / MISSION OAK ANTIQUE REMINGTON RAND SWIVEL OFFICE CHAIR
Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.
We're pleased to offer for sale this wonderful early 20th century Arts & Crafts / Mission Oak swivel office chair by Remington Rand. Remington Rand was founded in 1927 when the Remington Typewriter Company merged with the Rand Kardex Company. Remington Rand manufactured a large number of items such as typewriters, adding machines, furniture, & even supplied the US army with M1911's during World War II. The chair has a shaped saddle seat for extra comfort and a nice ergonomic profile on the back. The chair is signed Remington Rand on the back of the chair & signed Johnson Chair co on the iron mechanism. Johnson Chair Co was founded in the late 19th century in Chicago. We're not sure if this was created by Johnson for Remington Rand or if the parts were purchased from them for in house cabinetry. Nonetheless this is a great chair in an exceptionally clean finish great for an office or home setting.
