Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic 20th century Chinoiserie decorated liquor cabinet. Those who follow us know we’re no stranger to high quality chinoiserie painted furniture & decorative arts. This cabinet was made around the mid 20th century and we only select a very limited few of these each year as we desire special objects & nothing below the highest tier. The cabinet has a dynamic goldenrod yellow painted surface further decorated with plant life, pagodas, and villagers along a River. The cabinet has decorative etched & pierced metal hardware. The base of the cabinet is pierced & carved with festoons, flowers, and Acanthus leaves. The base has a gilt paint with a nice reflective quality that accents the carvings. The cabinet is in very good condition with our only notes being minor surface wear, minor gold paint loss to the base, minimal warping to the plywood back, & there were two stretchers on the base that were terminated. The cabinet measures 40” wide x 21” deep x 63 1/2” tall.
