Bay Colony Antiques is pleased to offer for sale this fantastic early 20th century antique Art Deco barbers stand. We don’t purchase many barber chairs because of their size and complicated hydraulics. We are however always in the market for accessories like this, barber poles, and shampoo boards. There were a few companies like Koken that offered a wide array of specialty products in their catalogs to support the industry. We’ve seen these used as neck rests and simply as work surfaces for the razor and cream. Last year we sold a few of these to a New York City barber shop and when we popped in for a visit they were using these to store rolled up towels for their clients and it looked amazing. The stand has a cast iron base with white porcelain enamel and a polished aluminum work surface. The stand can be raised and lowered easily using the black hand screw and has a maximum height of 32 1/2” tall and a minimum height of 20” at the lowest setting. The stand has a 12” diameter at the base and is in fantastic condition with very minimal enamel loss at the base & minimal wear to the aluminum work surface.
