19TH CENTURY WILLIAM & MARY STYLED WALNUT CONSOLE TABLE WITH FIGURED BASE X STRETCHER
We are delighted to offer you this very rare and unusual 19th century William & Mary styled double split drawer walnut console/sofa table/server. Our staff is torn in calling this 19th century as opposed to 18th century. Some of us believe its 18th century that has been nicely refinished with polished varnish. The others believe its a Wallace Nutting type copy. So we air to caution and will call its 19th century. It possesses an ancient very well oxidized secondary panels and the top's bottom side, applied carved turtle back bosses (cabochons), sausage & bead carved moldings along with framed drawer faces. The legs are nicely turned terminating in Flemish carved feet all joined by a wonderful figured base X stretcher with a flat profile. Its body has big cut sides and a graceful arch in the front of its case. It is 36" long, 16" wide and 31 1/2" tall. Perfectly sized for a large variety of accent uses.
