19TH CENTURY VICTORIAN CARVED OAK CURVED GLASS CHINA CABINET - PAINES FURNITURE
We are thrilled to offer you this very high quality 19th century Victorian Paine Furniture of Boston solid quartersawn oak curved glass china cabinet. This is a very special piece of the finest Victorian oak made by one of America's best furniture makers. This piece bares Paine's Institutional label being originally made for most likely a College. We believe the carved cartouches in the center on the Corinthian capitals gives us a clue about its original commission. We obtained this through a Massachusetts North Shore Estate in a situation where sadly not much was known about its origins. This cabinet has amazing thick all original wavy glass curved doors, side lights and a large one piece all original mirrored glass back panel. Each of the large side columns travel with the doors. It has dental worked carving formed under its shaped top and large robust bun feet. As far as the topic of fine Victorian oak goes this is a piece that commands notable pause and exception. It is a massively dense case of substantial quality measuring 49 1/2" long, 17" wide and 60" tall.
