19TH CENTURY FEDERAL PERIOD ANTIQUE MAHOGANY 3 DRAWER SHAVING MIRROR W/ GLASS PULLS
Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.
We're pleased to offer for sale this great 19th century Federal period antique mahogany shaving mirror. This wonderful shaving mirror stands on 6 turned ball feet and is fitted with 3 base drawers & large rectangular mirror. This mirror is crafted from bold grain crotch & flame mahogany veneers and decorated with glass pulls. This didn't come to us with a key but we'll be sure to match one up for you. The mirror is secured between two turned posts w/ acron finials with brass thumb screws to tighten & adjust the angle. The mirror is decorated with string inlay around the drawers, body, and mirror. The contrast between the light inlay & bold mahogany color create a pleasing visual effect. The mirror is in overall clean condition with a desirable alligatoring of the old varnish. This is a larger than most example measuring 22 1/2" wide x 8" deep x 23 1/4" tall. The mirror portion is 18" wide x 14" deep with a sight size of 15 1/2" x 11 1/2".
