19TH CENTURY VICTORIAN OAK DOUBLE DOOR SHELL CARVED ANTIQUE BOOKCASE / CHINA CABINET
Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.
We're proud to offer for sale this wonderful antique 19th century Victorian double door oak bookcase. This bookcase is nicely decorated around the gallery with carved ears , recessed shell carvings & decorative bead molding. The bookcase has fully formed classical columns along the vertical stiles. The glass doors are exceptional with nice old wavy or rippled glass. The bookcase retains its original lock and working key with a brass escutcheon cover / handle. The interior has four adjustable shelves that sit in on shelf pins. This is in great condition from a smoke free Colchester home the only issue we could note was a small stable seasoning split on the bottom of the right side. This is at no risk or expanding and truly a non issue but we'll point out anything one could consider a flaw no matter how insignificant they may be. This bookcase is 41" wide x 15" deep x 55 1/2" tall.
