19TH CENTURY VICTORIAN GOLDEN OAK SINGLE DOOR TIGER OAK CARVED BOOKCASE WITH FRETWORK DOORS AND BEVELED GLASS MIRROR
Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.
We're pleased to offer for sale this exceptional, clean, estate fresh 19th century Victorian single door oak bookcase. We're just now catching up on our major influx of great inventory. We've been active all winter and are loaded to bear with off the charts antiques. From a lovely New Hampshire estate this bookcase is super clean and ready to go. We always try to offer multiple better-best Victorian bookcases at any given time and believe it or not have to pay more and work harder for the desirably diminutive single doors. This example is wonderful standing on flared feet with a large glass door decorated with acanthus carvings. The interior has 3 adjustable shelves that can be raised or lowered to your preference. The upper section features a central beveled glass mirror flanked by two fretwork doors that open for additional storage. The frieze is decorated with a complex molded edge and tapered bellflower carvings. An old label is affixed to the back with the number 82 punched in. We've attached a photo of the label in the listing but our eyes were having trouble making it out. The bookcase is 30" wide x 14" deep x 62 1/2" tall.
