Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic 19th century antique Victorian Oak bookcase / China cabinet. We’d categorize this as a transitional cabinet as it was made during the late Victorian period & possesses elements from the emerging Art Nouveau style. The bookcase has a single glass door with 3 interior shelves. The third shelf is resting in the bottom of the case in our photos and we’ll have our woodworker cut the 2 support sticks that are missing. The bookcase is in a clean golden Oak finish and has a nice Art Nouveau carving at the top right corner that conceals an additional storage space. The original lock and escutcheon plate are still present but this didn’t come to us with a key. We have a large stockpile of antique keys and will match one up for this. The bookcase is in wonderful condition with our only notes being minor surface wear. The bookcase measures 29 1/2” wide x 13 1/2” deep x 61” tall. The interior measures 27 1/2” wide x 11” deep x 46 1/4” tall. The cubby measures 8” wide x 11 1/2” deep x 9” tall.
