Bay Colony Antiques is pleased to offer for sale this fantastic 19th century antique country primitive wall shelf. The cabinet was probably made in Vermont considering the style of the paint, but it could have just as well have been made in New Hampshire. Vermont furniture is often found with painted surfaces because the smaller communities didn’t have steady access to imported woods but the middle & upper class still desired trendy furnishings. The shelf has two drawers at the base and 5 acorn shaped brass hooks at the top that you can hang small cups & utensils on. These also make great entryway pieces to keep your keys and other accessories at hand. The cabinet is extremely well made and you can see the dovetail construction under the paint and we attached a few pictures of the drawers. The shelf measures 29 3/4” wide x 6 3/4” deep (8” w/ pull) x 17 1/4” tall.
