Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic late 19th century antique oak Jacobean style cabinet / cupboard. This design was popular during the English Renaissance and would be found in prominent homes from the 15th to the 17th century. These are often referred to as Tudor or Jacobean cabinets and both terms are correct and the period experienced a revival in the late 19th & early 20th century. This CA 1890 / 1900 cupboard is heavily carved and has two cabinet doors at the base & one center door in the upper cabinet. The center door has a working lock with a fantastic guilloche design over a classical arch. The cupboard is in fantastic condition with our only notes being very minimal surface wear. The cabinet measures 48” wide x 17 3/4” deep x 57” tall with a surface height of 38” tall.
