Thank you for shopping with Bay Colony Antiques. We're a third generation family owned business furnishing homes all over the world. We aggressively pursue important antiques, decorative arts, and objects of interest for our most discerning clients.
Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic 19th century antique crotch mahogany and marble table. Commonly referred to as flame mahogany, crotch mahogany grows at the crotch of a mahogany tree where two trunks or limbs split. The table has a wonderful inset beveled marble top with a scalloped table box with edge moldings and 2 drop finials on each of the six sides. The table is in great condition with our only condition notes being a few well done veneer repairs at the base, a few small age splits in the veneer and repairs to the molded edge where it’d been knocked off and re glued. We'll have our restorer go over the table and fabricate the few missing pieces of the edge molding. This is such a rare furniture format we were willing to look past the few veneer & molding repairs as it’s almost expected in a life of 150+ years. The table measures 34” wide flat edge to flat edge and 39” wide from point to point and is 29 1/2” tall.
