With our highest compliments and utmost honor, Bay Colony Antiques us proud to bring to market this stunning early 19th century antique Sheraton dresser / chest. The chest was constructed with mixed woods mainly Tiger Maple & Cherry with pine secondaries and a Mahogany border around the top drawer and along the top of the back gallery. The chest has paneled sides and is a pretty good size capable of holding a large wardrobe. All the drawers actuate with ease and are nice and clean and free of odors. The Tiger Maple selected for the gallery and drawer faces are of the highest quality. The grain is extremely bold & busy, and the wood is finished in the perfect amber Maple color that contrasts the Mahogany and Cherry very nicely. We strongly believe this was made in New Hampshire or Vermont but to be fair the form persisted throughout most of New England, so we have this listed as a New England chest. There is some old chalk script on the back of the gallery but we were having some trouble making it out. The chest measures 46 3/4” wide x 20 1/2” deep x 54 3/4” tall at the top of the gallery and 45 3/4” tall at the top surface.
