With our highest compliments and utmost honors, Bay Colony Antiques is excited to bring to market this stunning 19th century antique Sheraton Tiger Maple & Mahogany New York console table. The table has acanthus leaf carvings on the legs with a series of compressed ball turnings and flared ringlet turnings. The Mahogany used for the apron has an extremely rare grain pattern with vibrant sun bursts and tiger stripes similar to Fiddleback Mahogany but with more fluidity and movement. The table has a two board Tiger Maple top with a desirable heavy figuring and nice chatoyancy. Tiger Maple of this quality is often referred to as “instrument grade” as it’s most commonly used for guitars & violins. The table is in fantastic condition with our only notes being minor surface wear and a small section of molding missing on the right side that we’ll have our restorer address. This is a larger sized console table measuring 48” wide x 20” deep x 29 1/2” tall.
