Bay Colony Antiques is pleased to offer for sale this charming early 19th century antique Hepplewhite New Hampshire grain painted table. Necessity is the mother of invention and because this is country made table the cabinet maker either didn’t have access to imported woods or didn’t have a sufficient enough market to afford them. None the less, the cabinet maker or decorator was familiar with how the most desirable imported woods like Rosewood & Caribbean Mahogany looked and did a fantastic job decorating the table with a red & black grain paint. The table is made from pine and is very well made with all the original glue blocks still intact and is as sturdy as the day it was made. The table measures 32 1/2” wide x 17 1/2” deep at the center x 28 1/2” tall.
