19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE FEDERAL PERIOD REVERSE PAINTED GILT TABERNACLE MIRROR
We're excited to offer for sale this exceptional 19th century antique Federal period reverse painted gilt tabernacle mirror. This mirror is in exceptional condition with a nice gilt surface and finely formed columns & crown. We encounter a lot of mirrors like this and have to be selective in which ones we offer. Many have later repaints or original paintings that just weren't very good to begin with. This example features a really sweet scene with a fair woman in a white dress reaching for flowers with beautiful green & gold drapery around her. We note the very smallest of paint loss on the tablet, those who collect these understand this is as near mint as they come. The mirror retains it's original old glass with desirable signs of aging but nothing that obscures use. The mirror measures 16" wide x 28 1/2" tall with a sight size of 10" wide x 16 3/4" tall.
