Bay Colony Antiques is proud to offer for sale this fantastic 19th century antique Federal period Tiger Maple candle stand. The instrument grade Tiger Maple used for the top is absolutely stunning with a bold figuring and nice chatoyancy. The urn shaped pedestal is well proportioned and is further decorated with ringlet turnings & incised carvings. We love the legs on this, they have a ton of character and are quite cheerful & lively. Stands of this form are prone to leg damage and we’re proud to say this one has endured throughout the years without suffering a break. The stand is in wonderful condition with our only notes being some scratches on the top and a few fills to the top that line up with the screw holes. The stand has an 18” diameter at the base and stands 28 3/4” tall. The top has ovolo corners & measures 15 3/4” wide x 16 1/8” deep.
