19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE FEDERAL REVERSE PAINTED GILT TABERNACLE MIRROR W/ CARVED SHELL
We're pleased to offer for sale this exceptional 19th century antique Federal period gilt tabernacle mirror. This mirror is highly decorated with a number of unique design elements. The mirror retains it's original old glass with minor age expected silvering loss but nothing that obscures it's reflective properties. The cornice is well executed with acorn finials, carved floral designs, & a full bodied scallop shell. The reverse painted panel is in fantastic condition with minimal paint loss and features a quaint country scene with a beautiful color palette. The mirror stiles are decorated with tight rope carvings terminating in Corinthian capitals. The mirror measures 19" wide x 4" deep at the crown x 34 1/4" tall.
