We're delighted to offer for sale this great 19th century antique Queen Anne revival burl walnut & mahogany dressing table. From a lovely upstate New Hampshire home this dressing table is absolutely captivating with top tier instrument grade burled walnut and extensive use of inlay along the drawer faces. Burled Walnut is caused by an abnormality in the growth stage or stressful events that the tree encounters. The best Burled Walnut in the world is reserved for luxury automobiles, instruments, luxury yachts, & the finest cabinetry. The top of the table is made up of 4 bookmatched sequential cuts of burled walnut veneer encompassed by a herringbone inlay and cross banded border which creates a pleasing visual effect. The photos showing the top capture the best representation of the color and glow of this piece. We photograph our items in natural light outdoors for the truest representation of each item. The day this was being processed the sun was very powerful directly overhead making the front faces look darker than they are. The drawer face are again burled walnut with mahogany herringbone inlay borders. Each drawer is decorate with brass escutcheon plates with engraved Queen Anne style pulls with a fantastic floral decoration at the center. The drawers retain their original locks & have chamfered bottoms & hand cut dovetails. The cabinet stands on 4 shell carved cabriole legs that terminate in pad feet. The dressing table is 49" wide x 21 3/4" deep x 31" tall.
